Dr Muthu Ramachandran is currently a CEO and an Independent Educational and Research Consultant and an AI Ethics Research Consultant at AI Tech North, and a visiting Research Fellow at University of Southampton. Previously, Muthu was a Principal Lecturer (Associate Professor) for more than 19+ years in the School of Built Environment, Engineering, and Computing at Leeds Beckett University in the UK. Muthu has more than thirty years of teaching and research experience both in academia and in industrial research settings. uently at Volantis Systems Ltd, Surrey, UK where Muthu has worked on various research projects for Software Engineering Applications for Consumer Electronics including software architecture design and reuse for large scale telecommunication, multi-media and car navigation systems. Currently, Muthu is leading research in the areas of Cloud Software Engineering, Big Data Software Engineering, IoT Software Engineering, Software Security Engineering, SOA, Cloud Computing, and in the main areas of Software Engineering on RE, CBSE, software architecture, reuse, quality and testing. Muthu’s first career started as a research scientist where Muthu has worked on large scale high integrity real-time systems for Aerospace industrial applications. Muthu is the author of books: Software Components: Guidelines and Applications (Nova Publishers, NY, USA, 2008) and Software Security Engineering: Design and Applications (Nova Publishers, NY, USA, 2011). He has also widely authored and published over 10 books, 100s of journal articles, over 50 book chapters and 200 conferences papers on various advanced topics in software engineering, software security, cloud computing and education. Muthu has been leading conferences as chairs and as keynote speakers on global safety, security and sustainability, emerging services, IoTBDS, Complexis, Big Data, and Software Engineering for Service and Cloud Computing (SE-CLOUD 2018). Muthu is a member of various professional organizations and computer societies: IEEE, ACM, Fellow of BCS, and a Senior Fellow of HEA. Muthu’s had worked on several research projects including all aspects of software engineering, SPI for SMEs (known as a Prism model), emergency and disaster management systems, software components and architectures, good practice guidelines on software developments, software security engineering, and service and cloud computing. Dr Kulvinder Panesar is an Assistant Professor in Applied AI, from the University of Bradford having joined in September 2020. Her academic career spans over three decades. She is a strategically focused senior computing professional in natural language processing (NLP), conversational AI specialism - AI for good/healthcare context (principal investigator in several research grant submissions) and NLP consultancy activities. She is WeAreTech100 Women awardee by JP Morgan (2019). She undertook a research moderator role – technical/ethics panels: European Chatbot and Conversational AI Summit (2022- 2025). She
wears several hats but not limited to: course director; module leader; project supervisor for FYP, MSc/PhD students; a UKRI research reviewer; a recent project technical lead on an internal university awarded commercialisation project deploying generative AI and ethically-aligned solutions (AI Patient Chatbot (OSCE)). She has authored/co-authored NLP research papers and delivered international research outputs and engaged in university collaborations on AI-linked transformational activities. Currently, she is a co-investigator of a British Council – ISPF grant (research fellowships) strengthening global AI research networks. She is an established British Computer Society (BCS) member; an AI 360 Smart Ethics tool contributor (2yrs) and AI expert/advisor for a start-up events/activities (5 yrs), and an external mentor at Reed (4yrs).
